Central Church offers a variety of Missions and Ministries to
our members, friends and community.
In Touch
Our In Touch program ensures that every member of Central is cared
for and is receiving information about the life of the church. The membership is divided into groups; each group is
overseen by a point person; the point person makes regular contact with his or her list, letting the pastor and others know
when there are needs or changes in status, and relaying important information to each member.
For more information contact Janet Nyfeler, 235-2376.
Doorstep
Doorstep provides food, clothing, and other assistance to community
members according to need. Doorstep has 53 churches that share the work, staffing the pantry, clothing rooms and other
operations out of the building at 10th and Buchanan; Doorstep is run by an independent board, and the work is overseen by
an executive director. Central Congregational prides itself in being a founding church when Doorstep was developed in
1966 in response to the tornado.
For more information contact Doorstep at 357-5341.

Let's Help
The fourth Friday of each month Central Congregational Church provides
cakes for the daily noon meal provided at Let's Help in Topeka. Many volunteers are there at Let's Help to prepare and
serve the meal on that day. If you would like to be involved in this project, please contact the church for information.
SPECIAL MISSION OFFERINGS
Central Congregational participates in the five special
offerings promoted by the United Church of Christ.
1. One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) supports programs internationally
for building sustainable communiteis, emergency relief and rehabilitation, and refugee advocacy and resettlement, as well
as domestic and international disaster preparedness and response.
2. Neighbors in Need (NIN)allows us to reach out and touch neighbors
with justice and compassion and to advocate for a society in which all people have a voice in the decisions that affect their
lives. This offering includes support for the work of the Council for American Indian Ministry, efforts to eradicate
hunger, and the promotion of justice, peace, and reconciliation.
3. Strengthen the Church supports the renewal of congregations, helps
fund leadership for new churches, and strengthens the witness of the United Church of Christ.
4. Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM) is an offering that Central pledges
to each year.
5. The Christmas Fund is designed to help low-income retired clergy and
their weidowed spouses and provides emergency grants and supplementation to pensions and health insurance premiums for low-income
ministerial and lay retirees.

Central Congregational Church Hospitality Statement
We affirm Christ's call to love God with all that we are and love our
neighbor as ourselves to invite, receive and value all people regardless of gender, race, age, culture, ethic background,
sexual orientation, economic circumstance, family configuration, and difference in ability. All who seek to affirm the
love of Christ in their lives are invited into this community to share fully in its life and ministry. In response to
the grace which Christ has given us, we glorify God, we commit ourselves to growth in the Spirit and we rejoice in the worth,
gifts, and dignity of every person as a child of God.
